TAP Portugal x Misshattan

I believe that if you visualize something hard enough, you could manifest it into your life. For months, my mom wanted to take a girl’s trip to France and Portugal, but with my work and travel schedule, it was always so hard for me to commit to any dates. She would bring it up every time we spoke. Somehow, in the coming months, an opportunity arose. It was a trip to Europe working with TAP Air Portugal. It was not just any trip, but a brilliant concept that I instantly fell in love with; an opportunity to experience two European countries on TAP’s Portugal Stopover program. Why don’t more airlines offer something like this? It is a home run if you love to travel. When I was working at JP Morgan, I cherished all of my vacation days and would struggle to decide on one place to travel. Now, with the TAP’s Portugal Stopover program, we can take advantage of our time off and travel to two destinations for the price of one.

Having a travel buddy is always a plus when hitting the road, or in this case, airport runway. I was proud to bring my mom along for the journey. It was our very first girls trip without the guys in our family. Our flight was pretty amazing. From the cozy seats & impeccable service to the delicious meals that was served, no wonder our flight felt so short. Since I have already been to beautiful Lisbon (which is a must on anyone’s travel goals list), I decided to make the first stop in Porto, Portugal.

Even though it was pretty late, the moment we landed in Porto, we went out to explore the city. Our first stop, visiting the Dom Luis Bridge and have dinner by the water. With no concrete plans, we left dinner and intentionally got lost within the narrow alleys of Porto. Somehow, my mom led us to a place where you could see the whole city. It was truly magical.

With barely any sleep, the next morning we went out to shoot the sunrise. Instead, it was so foggy that we barely could see what was ahead of us. After waking up at 5AM, it wasn’t an ideal forecast, but I didn’t mind. It looked pretty cool and It was actually really funny to see my mom’s reaction as stuff like this happens to photographers ALL OF THE TIME! We made the most of it, took cool pictures and visited as many spots as we could. We had two favorite spots; one being the Livaria Lello. It is the most magnificent library I had ever seen in my life. Rumor has it that it was the location where Harry Potter was written. I could understand why. Inspiration bleeds through the book covered walls. Definitely a MUST-SEE. My second favorite spot is the Clerigos Tower. Man, you guys already know how I feel about views!! These 360 views of the entire city of Porto is the one to check out.

The next city on our TAP stopover adventure had to be Paris, can you blame me? It’s called the city of love for a reason. For me, it’s because I fall in love with it every time I visit. There was a point in my life where I was debating moving there. It’s that beautiful. For the next two days, we were up from sunrise to sundown going from one place to the next. There are so many things to see. Every time I’m in Paris, I have to visit the Notre Dame Cathedral. I can’t help it, I’m just always fascinated by the gothic style architecture. It gets me every time! Hah! And of course, I had to take my mom to the Arc de Triomphe. This spot has amazing city views that you won’t want to miss. Beware; you will get quite the workout going up the stairs. Totally worth it!

Special thanks to TAP Air Portugal for having me on this amazing trip. If you love traveling as much as I do, check out TAP’s incredible stopover program destinations.
