If you’ve ever had the urge to see the world, Thailand should be first on your list. There is literally something for everyone. You can explore the city life or relax at their incredibly tropical beaches. Either way, you can’t go wrong.
I’ve been a traveler my whole life but when the pandemic hit, I took a back seat and tried to enjoy my time in New York. After nearly two years of no international traveling, I was excited to go back to Thailand. This time we visited their iconic beach towns Phuket & Krabi.
Phuket is the largest island in Thailand, surrounded by beautiful mountains and the clearest waters I have ever seen. It’s no wonder this beach town is as popular as it is. We stayed at the luxurious V Villas Phuket, where we had our own private villa with a private swimming pool and incredible panoramic views across Ao Yon Bay. My favorite thing about this property was that even being on top of a mountain, it is also conveniently located by the beach. They have stairs that seem intimidating (keyword, seem*) that take you to the beach, or you also have the option to ask your personal butler to drive you down + pick you up. Having access to breathtaking views and the beach is a win in my eyes!

Krabi
Our next stop was the beautiful town, Krabi. With just a short boat ride away, we reached the beautiful Rayavadee where we would spend the next few nights. Their staff promptly met us at the beach where the boat dropped us off and handled our bags which was definitely appreciated. This property was unlike any I have seen before. It truly felt like its own community, with the resort’s 94 two-story pavilions and 7 luxurious villas dotted throughout tropical gardens and coconut groves, only a few minutes’ walk from Railay and Phranang Beaches. It was impossible to get homesick when you have you’re own two-story pavilion that is spacious and stylish, with tropical decor & polished wood, richly-colored fabrics, and hand-crafted details throughout as well as an outdoor terrace with seating.

This trip truly was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I felt completely safe and carefree, ate the most delicious Thai food of my life (shout out to June), all while connecting with some of the warmest, kind-hearted people. It was a great country to explore while dealing with the pandemic and would highly recommend it to all types of travelers.
Special thanks to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, V Villas Phuket & Rayavadee for making this such a memorable experience.
